The Indian edition of Global Poker League began airing on Colors Infinity on the 9th of this month. This is its very first season and audiences and organizers are equally excited and eager about its response. It will be aired for a time period of 4 weeks on Colors Infinity and Colors infinity HD channels. This announcement was brought to the audience by the league itself.
Every Saturday starting 9th March 2019, you can witness the telecast of GPL India from 7 pm to 8 pm only on Colors Infinity and Colors Infinity HD. The Grand Finale will premiere on the 6th of April, 2019.
Under the ownership of Mediarex and Entertainment, a Malta-based game operator; GPL has hosted several big games. Once such event was free to play poker league which was conducted in partnership with PokerStars India which is under the banner of Sachiko Gaming.
The plans had been announced as early as September 2017 but had faced a setback due to come unforeseen troubles. But they have come back with the list of online qualifiers for the event that had been scheduled in June 2018, with a gap of over a year.
Season 1 of GPL saw the active and enthusiastic participation of teams from 6 cities namely the Kolkata Creators, Pune Alphas, Mumbai Jetsetters, Delhi Diehards, Bengaluru Hackers and Chennai Sharks. These teams had made it to this point after a lot of trials, tiring selection procedures and a boot camp. These teams consisting of five players each were announced finalists in last September 2018 which was followed by the four-week long tournament among the qualified six teams.
The winning GPL Team comprising of five lucky and talented players awaits PokerStars Players NLHE Championship (PSPC) Platinum Passes which is their golden ticket to an all-expense paid trip to play at the biggest and most coveted event on the calendar, PSPC 2019 tournament scheduled to happen in the Bahamas.
